"RealTime UnReal turns the MACM’s black box into a seductive site to behold. The use of state-of-the art Barco projectors and a Stewart Silver 5D Filmscreen, along with very sophisticated lighting as well as a floating (i.e. hanging from ceiling as opposed to grounded) square structure marking the perimeter of the user’s space, all contribute to a making the virtual experience believable..."

Artist Leigh-Ann Pahapill to Visit Rollins in September

We are fortunate to be hosting Toronto based artist, Leigh-Ann Pahapill for two visits this academic year. She will be on campus and meeting with students the week of September 19th, followed by an extended residency of approximately 3 weeks in January which will culminate with an exhibition at CFAM.

During the September visit, Pahapill will install her 3-channel video installation, Manifold, in the corridor of the Cornell Fine Arts Center. The work will be on view from September 19 - 24. Don't miss your chance to view this work!

PHOTOJAX 2011 - Inaugural photography event in Jacksonville


PHOTOJAX 2011 is an inaugural 2-day photography festival celebrating photography. PHOTOJAX 2011 offers a diversity of photography related exhibitions, artist receptions, portfolio reviews, and a community cell phone image projection exhibit hosted by various venues throughout Jacksonville. PHOTOJAX is a not–for-profit organization coordinated by a group of dedicated volunteers in conjunction with the Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville, a cultural resource of The University of North Florida. The festival brings together photographers, photography enthusiasts, collectors, educators, galleries, museums and the general public to explore all aspects of the medium by answering this year’s thematic question: “What is Photography?”
